Outdoor Classrooms
We have established multiple outdoor classrooms to enhance our students' learning experiences. By creating designated spaces with seating in our organic garden, worship area, art studio, and farmers market, we ensure that education extends beyond traditional classrooms. Just as Jesus often taught His disciples in the outdoors, these areas are designed to support various aspects of our curriculum and provide interactive, hands-on learning opportunities, encouraging students to connect with God’s creation as they grow in knowledge.
Organic Garden
Our children actively participate in growing food in our organic garden, learning through hands-on activities. The garden brings them the joy of growing their own crops while teaching the importance of good soil—both for plants and their spiritual lives. Just as seeds grow best in healthy soil, we help our students understand that their hearts, like soil, need to be ready to receive and nurture God’s Word. As Jesus shared in the Parable of the Sower, 'Other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown' (Matthew 13:3-9). Through gardening, children learn that growth and abundance come from a foundation rooted in faith and care.
Worship Area
This special space is designed for children to worship the Lord through song and music. Not only is music a powerful tool for praising God, but research also shows that music plays a vital role in the development of a child's brain. Through singing, children strengthen their language skills, improve memory, and enhance their creativity. Music helps build emotional connections, fosters joy, and develops a sense of community. In the Bible, music and worship are central to praising God, as seen in verses like Psalm 150:6, 'Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.' Just as King David worshipped through music, children learn to express their love for God, and their minds are enriched in the process.
Art Studio
Our art studio has been designed to inspire creativity in children while surrounded by the beauty of God's creation. By engaging in art outdoors, children develop fine motor skills, improve their ability to focus, and enhance their problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Art encourages imagination and emotional expression in a setting that is a reminder of Psalm 19:1, 'The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.' Here, children can create while being inspired by the beauty of nature, learning that they too are made in the image of a creative God.
Farmers Market
Our farmers market provides a unique opportunity for children to showcase and sell the crops and flowers they’ve diligently grown. This hands-on experience not only teaches them about agriculture and entrepreneurship but also instills a sense of responsibility and accomplishment. By managing their own produce, children learn valuable lessons about hard work, stewardship, and being able to in a tangible way experience the fruits of their labor. Galatians 6:7.
And More!
Our outdoor space also includes a builders workshop, two mud kitchens, a beautifully hand painted playground mural depicting the land and sea, and a four lane bike path, all designed to engage children in continuous outdoor play. These areas not only inspire creativity and imagination but also help develop fine motor skills, coordination, and physical fitness. Whether they are exploring the bike path, working with their hands in the workshop, or enjoying the playground, our large outdoor spaces encourage active learning and play in a natural environment.
