Lambs
Three-Year-Olds
Children are welcomed into the 3s program to cultivate their enthusiasm for learning and their love of Christ.
Teachers use practical and engaging teaching moments throughout the year to empower children to become who the Lord has called them to be. Through intentional and purposeful activities in an environment that infuses gospel-centered learning into every moment, Perseverance Christian Academy sets a path for graduates to carry the light of Christ into the world.
Ratio
Our 1:8 teacher-to-child ratio fosters the ability to truly provide the individual support, attention, and love each child needs every day. Our teachers have the opportunity to genuinely get to know each child as an individual.
Daily Activities
Welcome Circle Time
The children will gather as a group to worship, pray, and begin the day immersed in God’s love. With this foundation established, they will move forward with activities that nurture their hearts, hands, and minds.
Outdoor Time
We believe spending time in God’s creation is crucial for young learners. Through outdoor play, they will strengthen their large muscles, expand their gross motor skills, and develop healthy habits of activity. They will also explore our Organic Garden, watching the seeds they sow sprout into full-grown wonders of God’s creation.
Snack
A healthy, organic snack will be provided to the children as a group. This time allows them to experience new foods, socialize, and learn to make wise choices for their bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit.
Centers
During this time, children will be allowed to make free choices in the classroom. Options include dramatic play, blocks, tabletop activities, reading, and more. Week to week, teachers will make changes to centers to keep them engaging and reflective of new themes the children are learning and taking an interest in.
Dramatic Play
Allows children to practice social-emotional skills, self-regulate, practice storytelling, and more.
Blocks
Engage problem-solving abilities, spatial awareness, motor skills, and math skills.
Tabletop Activities
Encourage a variety of skills including fine motor, math, engineering, language, creativity, and more, as the activities change week to week, introducing new challenges.
Reading
Consistently reading prepares a child to become a lifelong reader. Engaging stories and alluring illustrations draw them in and bring them back again and again. A love of reading begins now.
Circle Time (Group Concept)
During this group time, the class will sit together while the teacher introduces a concept through an activity. This time will emphasize concepts being learned throughout the day, like math, literacy, and memorization. The children will practice cooperation, consideration, and self-control as they wait their turn, sit on their bottoms, and raise their hands.
STEAM Lab
In our uniquely designed STEAM lab, children will explore the worlds of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Activities in this space allow students to get messy, experiment, design, and create. Every day will present a new art provocation, providing ample opportunity to design unique works of art and to create something with inspiring loose parts that prompt a desire to engineer something new.
